Muriel Alarcón

Muriel Alarcón is a Chilean journalist with a Master of Arts in Science Journalism degree from Columbia Journalism School (CJS). Based in Santiago, she is a Professor in Journalism at Universidad Católica (UC) and is a regular contributor for El Mercurio and La Segunda, two of Chile’s major newspapers. In recent years she has reported on Latino communities in New York as a grantee of the Pulitzer Center and Fundación Gabo, and she was a fellow for Columbia Journalism Investigations’ Global Migration Project. Currently, she is a Pulitzer Center 2023 Climate Science Reporting Fellow and Joan Konner in the Journalism of Ideas Fellow in CJS.
