NEW YORK, NY (June 16, 2022) – THE CITY, an independent, digital news outlet dedicated to hard-hitting reporting that serves the people of New York, launched a new tool on Tuesday, which tracks key metrics that gives insight into how New York City is recovering in the aftermath of the pandemic.
“How’s New York City Doing?” tracks data about the city’s unemployment rate, subway ridership, and average weekday office occupancy rates compared to other major metropolitan areas. The recovery tracker also looks at employment rates in the city’s key industries and hotel room occupancy rates to indicate how the city’s tourism industry is fairing.
The dashboard allows readers to search their subway stops to see how ridership compares to pre-pandemic levels.
